I saw a Spoonbill yesterday at Saltholme. This was from the weekly Saltholme blog from last week of which a Spoonbill was seen all of last week at Saltholme. I’ve seen Spoonbills before as Spoonbills have nested in the UK for quite a number of years now. I saw a nesting pair of Spoonbills in 2018 where two well known reserves in North Yorkshire have had Spoonbills nesting since around 2016 and one of those two reserves has had 3-4 pairs of Spoonbills for a few years now.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
