Visited Saltholme on 9th December, and as I approached Saltholme pools hide, a Woodcock flew overhead. I managed a few decent shots, and also managed to capture the Water Pipit at Phil Stead hide. I was led to believe that Woodcock are not a normal sighting there, glad I saw one, two firsts that day.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Woodcocks aren't a regular visitor here at Saltholme but we do get them showing up on occasion. Great that you got some photos!
