The Teesmouth Bird Club planning to build a steel tower viewing platform/hide at Dorman's Pool

I've just been reading on another forum that the Teesmouth Bird Club are planning to erect a steel tower viewing platform/hide at Dorman's Pool in memory of someone. The question I must ask have that club had the go ahead to do this from the RSPB who own that site and reserve near to Saltholme?

  • Hi Thomo,

The TBC viewing platform is planned in memory of Ted Parker who was their Chairman for a number of years.

We have agreed in principle that this can go ahead at Dorman`s Pool as it will provide viewing over the top of the reedbed and will be a real asset to RSPB and TBC members.

There is however some way still to go before it is finalised. It will need to have approval from the local planners and from Natural England before final permissions are in place.

I hope this helps clear this up.
