OK, so they're not that deceitful, it's just one of the collective nouns for a whole group of them. At the moment, we have well over 1,000 lapwings at Saltholme and they're well worth seeing or just taking a closer look.
Toby took this video of a whole lot of lapwings in front of the Phil Stead hide last week.
