The snow remains at Saltholme. If you've not been down already, it really is worth a visit.
We're already onto day eight of Saltholme's advent calendar. Most of the photographs were taken by visitors and added to Saltholme's facebook group, but today's was snapped by Saltholme's fantastic assistant warden, Toby. This strange winter scene is hot off the press. You may have already seen or read that we've been feeding bananas to some of the birds on the reserve to help them through the cold snap. The moorhens, ducks and geese have taken a real liking to the bendy fruits. Here's a moorhen enjoying a much-deserved mouthful of banana.
