There's still a bittern about at Saltholme. Bitterns are naturally shy and retiring. If you ever wanted to know how rewarding it can be to see something after waiting for hours to see it, then this is the bird to do it with. It can go missing for hours and then extend its long neck like a periscope to have a good look around. Once it's seen enough........... it's gone.
Hopefully the video conveys the bird's beahviour and habits but, more importantly, tempts you to come and have a look for it from the Phile Stead hide over the next couple of days.
