It’s a bit chilly, isn’t it?
Well, at least we’re not covered in snow like the rest of the nation, at least not yet. So we’re happily moving forward with all the wonderful events we had planned for the season, and if the weather decides not to cooperate then we’ll push through the cold! We were hoping to talk to you all about the wonderful spring weather and the changes we can expect on the reserve, but it seems that winter is so determined to stick around that any further discussion of spring should be slightly delayed!
As you probably already know, it’s the Easter holidays next week and we’ve got plenty organised for you to get involved with. Sometimes the old favourites are the best and with that in mind we made sure we had a good old fashioned egg hunt down on our list of key activities. The eggs will be hidden around the garden, and if you return an egg to reception you will be rewarded with a chocolate treat. That’s assuming I’m not working on reception. In which case you might be rewarded with an empty wrapper and an apology.
Perhaps you'll be lucky enough to spot the Easter Bunny this season.
As always there will be appropriate crafty activities taking place in our classroom. One such activity will be making your very own Easter bonnets. Now. I wasn’t actually aware of the so called ‘Easter bonnet’ until about two minutes ago, when my colleagues here in the Saltholme office insisted with absolute horror that I must have heard of them. I had not. But from what I’ve gathered they are large hats, on which you stick Easter themed decoration, and they’re lots of fun and often very extravagant. So – don’t be like me, make yourself aware of bonnets!
The lambs will still be here in increasing numbers throughout the Easter season, and there will be plenty of guided trips over to the lambing shed to have a look at the newest arrivals. We’re enjoying all your name suggestions so far, so please carry on dropping your suggestions in the box and we’ll pick the best ones!
Enjoy the Easter holidays!
Andrew
