Hi everyone,
Did you hear the Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Radio 2 this morning? If you did, you probably heard a young chap named Archie who was telling Chris that he'd been pond dipping for the first time ever. Archie's first ever pond dipping experience was at Saltholme.
I was lucky enough to see what Archie and his family had caught on Saturday morning. Not only did Archie have a great time pond dipping - he gave it 10/10 on the radio - but he also provided a first for Saltholme. What was this first, I hear you ask? A nine-spined stickleback, of course.
Here's a photograph of the first-time fish.
This is possibly the worst photograph I've ever taken.
If you fancy the challenge of catching your own nine-spined stickleback, then visit Saltholme soon. Pond dipping kits can be hired from reception at £2 per person or free for members of the RSPB.
Bye for now,
Ben.
