Hi everyone,
We've had a bittern at Saltholme today - though it's only been popping out into the open for very brief stints. One of the longest views lasted for a grandiose 15 seconds.
The star-spangled visitor was creeping among the vegetation along the edges of the pool in front of the Phil Stead hide. Thankfully, Ian Forrest managed to get a quick photo of it popping its head up ...
We're hoping the bittern will hang around for a few days. If you fancy your chance of spotting it, the Phil Stead opens at around 8:30 am every day of the week.
