Can people who don't have the big lenses and noisy shutters also have an input in this, ie someone like me with a video camera that's actually given up bothering to try and film the kingfishers as i can't hear any of their calls in the torrent of noise.

Was that last comment really called for Denise?
Its the camera shutter that makes the noise IRRESPECTIVE of lens size!
In reply to Rich Gannon:
OK, I'll retract the size of the lens and stick with the noise of the shutters then, so if there's like 10 cameras in there all firing off is it a case of tough for everyone else?
That's why I go to Fowlmere for kings.................much less competition for hide space! OOooops, shouldn't have told everybody that.
I just don't want to make a film and have to add some cheesy music to it afterwards, i want to hear the birds call cos i rather like that as well :)
Thats OK, cos it's quiet over there at the moment and would be a wasted journey for them :)
Can I suggest that the existing kingfisher hide is for cameras and the new one, when built, will be for binocular/telescope users (and video cameras maybe) so no shutter noise disturbance.
In reply to atallon:
The majority of people who go are PAID UP MEMBERS, who have the right to be their as much as the next person, I can understand sometimes cameras going off can make a little noise, But if you try to put people in to categories, it will lead to friction, we all have the right to be their.........
I can almost feel the love in this thread. I wonder how much of a problem this really is?
