Hello All

Despite the wind picking up today there has still been plenty of sun and the wildlife has been making the most of it.

Roger this afternoons reception volunteer popped in the Draper hide and it was a hive of activity.  What looked to be 2 juvenile herons were chasing each other around the Draper area while common terns, pied wagtails and lapwings were mating. Not to mention all the other activity from 3 little ringed plovers, herring gull, pochard, tufted duck, shelduck, cettis warbler, 2 pairs of little grebe and a hawking hobby.

Baby birds started to show well last week with the fledging of our first brood of kingfishers along with young coot, morhen, canada geese, mallard, mute swan cygnets and robin.  So the breeding season is well underway.

After fledging the first brood of kingfishers last week the adults continued to show well at the bank today with mating occuring on the post and the male bringing the female fish in between long periods of sitting on the post and looking at the bank, not sure what he is thinking!

thanks
