Hello All

Today we had 4 young kingfishers sitting well hidden in some bushes near to the bank. Weather theses were 2 from yesterday and 2 more today or all four fledged today and yesterdays had move off from the immediate environs i am afraid we may never now.  But by this afternoon we were sure there were no longer any more young in the bank.

We should now have a few quite days, activity wise, at the nesting bank while the adults feed the young away from the nest site.  We will also be keeping an eye out for the first change over, so we know that the second brood is complete and can calculate a hatchng date.

Also about  today were 2 little ringed plover, buzzard, little egret, garden warbler, hobby, 2 shelduck, 4 common tern and a fesh hatched brood of 7 mute swan cygnets (very cute) on the lee marsh.  With the lovely warm weather we also had a nice showing of butterflies including, brimstone, orange tip, peacock, and some blue damselflies unfortuantly i could not get a good enough look for id and a hairy dragonfly . There was also good sightings of water vole in the ditch running along the side of the path just passed the turnstile as you head towards the warbler hide.

Note - Sorry had my facts wrong when i wrote this there were actually 5 young seen today not the previouly mentioned 4,

thanks
