Limpy and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary last Thursday - we decided the perfect place to celebrate was at Rainham. The weather was beautiful, though the kingfisher and the bearded tits were determined to avoid my camera! Here's what I did manage to get:
One of my favourite birds! At the far end of the reserve I spotted this family:
A heron peered out from the reeds:
A cormorant flew over:
It was certainly a good day for kestrels:
These ducks were enjoying a quiet afternoon..........
........while the starlings threw a pool party nearby!
Another kestrel appeared:
As the afternoon went on more and more greylag geese arrived, all honking enthusiastically:
She looks less than impressed at the increasing noise levels!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Hi Clare, first things first congratulations to you both and i hope you have plenty more to come. Glad you had a good day at Rainham you certainly got out and about last week and it was good to see Limpy managed to get out as well.
