We need you!

As you've probably seen the foreshore area collects rubbish after high tides. On Sunday 26 October we are going to be working with Thames21 and RSPB Gravesend Local Group to do a community clean-up of the foreshore - and we need you!

Come along and help 9 am-1 pm!

Join Thames 21 (the voice for London’s waterways, working with communities to improve rivers and canals for people and wildlife) for our community clean-up at RSPB Rainham Marshes nature reserve foreshore in partnership with the RSPB Gravesend local group.

Location: The car park at RSPB Rainham Marshes Nature Reserve, New Tank Hill Road, Purfleet, Essex RM19 1SZ

Activity:

Get stuck in with Thames21 and RSPB Gravesend to clear the rubbish that collects on the foreshore by Rainham Marshes nature reserve. Plastic litter blights this area every time there is a high tide. Let’s get together to tackle it! As well as collecting the litter, we will be recording what we find as part of Thames21’s Thames River Watch project. This project enables volunteers to better understand the health of the tidal Thames, and what we can do to make it better. More information on Thames River Watch here: http://www.thames21.org.uk/project/thames-river-watch/

Wellies, gloves and tools will be provided. Please wear clothing suitable for the outdoors and weather.

After the event there will be time for a bit of bird watching at the nature reserve.

If you would like to attend, please contact Julia Makin on 07827240457, or email julia.makin@thames21.org.uk Booking required - please talk to Julia!

Hope to see you then!
