Evening all... one of the most frequently asked collections of questions that I get at Rainham Marshes are not actually related to our reserve at all... Any guesses?

Well it is the RSPB Wallasea Island out on the Essex coast. I for one do not have all the answers to queries about this vast ongoing landscape realignment challenge but I know a man who does.

Chris Tyas, RSPB Manager of the Wallasea Island Wild Coast Project, kindly joins us for the evening on Friday 30 October. He will be giving us a fascinating talk on this landmark conservation and engineering scheme, the biggest of its kind in Europe, providing us with an insightful glimpse of what the project entails for the future of the area and its wildlife. The site is evolving all the time with the first river wall breaches now in place (which has altered previous walking routes) and the prime raptor and passerine habitat now set aside to continue the winter spectacle that we have come to love. It really will be a fantastic event, so please come and join us and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask the main man all your questions.

Please call 01708 899851 or drop in to book your seat – there are still plenty available so please come and support us and this event with bums on seats and questions in pockets.
RSPB members: £3; Non-members: £4 Arrive at 7pm for a 7:30pm start, finishing at 9:30pm.
