Quite a list of birds in the end today. Once the seven minutes of Alpine Swift excitement had abated we sat down to work out what else we had seen during the day: Two male Grasshopper Warblers continued to reel and there were Sedge Warblers, Reed Warblers and  Whitethroats around the circuit. A male Lesser Whitethroat was new for the year and Sand Martins moved through all day. Also seen were: 2 Swallows, pr Garganey, the first Greenshank of the season, an amazing 26 Wheatear,  6 Yellow wagtails, Common Sandpiper, 6 Buzzards, three different Marsh Harriers, pr Peregrine, our first Hobby, 2 Kestrel, 2 Sparrowhawk, 2pr Little Ringed Plover, 2pr Oystercatcher,

Also seen today were lots of butterflies with 20 Peacock, 10 Small Tortoiseshell, Brimstone, 3 Comma, m Orange Tip, 4 Holly Blue, 30 Green Veined White, 10 Small White and a Speckled Wood. The female Grey Seal was seen eating two big eels this morning and Water Voles and Marsh Frogs were pretty active!
