OMG... Got here at 0610 to find ten cars outside the gates. Not surprised at all as I would have been amongst them if I did not work here! Anyway, by 0720  the car park was full and I was starting to park people in all the nooks and crannies. By 0800 they were parked most of the way back down the entrance road on the pavement and by 0930 there was not one space left so I gave up on parking duties and escaped back to the centre! There were 304 cars parked between the the front gate and the visitors centre and just under 1200 headed off along the river wall in search of our Slaty Backed Gull.

It was possibly seen a couple of times during the day but the wind did not help and hopefully it will be picked up in the coming days.

Here are some shots from the day.

It got quite busy.

Sincere thanks to all the volunteers who helped today and for the catering and retail staff for coping admirably. Last but not least we could not have managed without Annie and Terry coming in on their day off to lend a hand.

Lets see what happens tomorrow!
