Clipper update for Sunday 1st September. As mentioned in an earlier post, the schedule suggests that the 11 Round the World Clippers will start heading our way from the Thames Barrier at about 5.30pm. Obviously, we have our autumn fair on that day and will be in the process of shutting things down for the day at that time. However, we shall keep the car park open until 7pm for you to either stay or come along to enjoy the spectacle of these magnificent yachts heading off on their year long adventure. There will be no access to the trails after 5pm but the cafe will remain open for drinks and cake until 6pm. Access to the river wall path will be open as usual.
We were treated by a full 11 yacht flotilla of the Round the World Race Clippers this afternoon as they headed up to London prior to the year long race that starts here on the 1st September.
