Twelve years ago a suited and booted gentleman (in a Gunners winter coat) started with us here at the reserve. Terry Robinson became our Facilities Manager and ensured that everything in and around the building (once we had built it) was running tickety-boo and a lot more besides and behind the scenes. He has been an indispensable part of the team ever since but now is the time for him to at last retire (he has already tried at least once!) and escape from the south-east to pastures new and the joys of village life.

His first thoughts on our wonderful marsh were of a 'big wet flat field' but very soon that expanse of greenness drew him in like it has all of us and he too was soon rushing out to see what we had found. He even started keeping a list and ‘taking walks to check on his toilets’.

Terry will be sorely missed and we wish him all the best...

But we did give him a cake and champagne send of this morning before opening just in case he snuck off early!
