There are many Wasp Spiders now on the trail and I have marked a couple with signs to help you find them but with a good eye they are quite easy to find.  The trick is not to look for the spider but for the web.

These clever ladies live in long grass where they catch their favourite prey of grasshoppers and to set the trap they first tie back any blades of grass in their chosen spot before hanging their web in the gap. Any grasshoppers looking to cross the gap will then jump and voila! they are history!

To us it looks as if you have carefully lifted a foot and placed it in the grass and then taken it out again.

Can you see the trap in photo below?

This one is especially elaborate as the grass is patchy so she has created a domed roof to hem things in... amazing!

Success...

Have you found it yet?

So keep you eyes open!
