17 October marks the #LetNatureSing takeover day - we want to get bird song everywhere, from workplaces to living rooms, and send a chirruping, chirping message to tell people in power we don’t want bird song to disappear.

We are listening - are you?

Keep reading for more pictures of the Rainham team trying to get a pictures where we are all looking in the right direction without blinking!

. . . . .

Nature is in crisis, and the signs are everywhere. But there is time to change things. A movement is building and through Let Nature Sing and the State of Nature report, we’re playing our part. Come and join us.

. . . .

Here is a few of our photo outtakes...

"Come on Howard - smile!" ... "I am smiling!"

.

Scratching and blinking - let's do it again...

.

"Ooh we have 'Let Nature Sing' written on our t-shirts let's show that"... Sim is the only one paying attention here! Look at Howard's face!

.

Howard is totally birding at this point! We saw groups of redwing flying over, marsh harrier, and swirling lapwing over the scrapes.

.

This one is my favourite - we're not all looking the right way but we were all chucking about not being able to stand still and look in the right direction!

Even though we were just outside the centre it's a great place to enjoy birdsong - at the feeders by the centre you might see and hear the sparrows chirping away, great tit, blue tit, chaffinch, long tailed tit, and there's even been a chiffchaff around the feeders.

Together we can send the message that we want to keep on hearing it!
