Hi everyone,

How are you?

I just wanted to let you know a few details for tomorrow's event!

  • The reserve (including car park) will open at 8am tomorrow (6 August).
We're  anticipating a busy day and are urging people to use public transport. Easy access from the C2C train line from London's Fenchurch Street station or Gray's in Essex. Get off at Purfleet train station which is just a 15 minute signposted walk along the river to the reserve. There is another car park a short distance from the reserve - near Purfleet Station if needs be.

  • The Visitor Centre (including cafe and shop) will close at 10.30 am, and will re-open promptly at 12.15 pm.

  • The event will be taking place in the marquee field - which is just past the Marshland Discovery Zone (don't worry there will be signs!)
Leave yourself 15-20 minutes to stroll over there from the centre.

  • The rally will start at 11 am, and we expect that it may be finished by about 12.30 pm

  • The rally will feature speeches from Chris Packham, Mark Avery and others, including Charlie Moores from BAWC and RSPB Chief Executive Mike Clarke.

  • Chris Packham and Mark Avery will be signing copies of their books after the event.
You can buy both books for just £30 from our shop!

  • It's meant to be a nice day so remember to bring water and suncream!

Join us in saying ‘We want our Hen Harriers back’, at RSPB Rainham Marshes (it's the first Hen Harrier Day in the South East!) and share the day via Twitter #HHDay2016 @HHDayLondon  #RSPBRainham

Have fun everyone!
