Hello everyone,

First of all on behalf of Steven, Steve and myself (the leaders of the Rainham Marshes Wildlife Explorer Group), we hope you have all had a wonderful festive season and we wish you all a Happy New Year.
Thank you for your support - visiting and supporting the reserve and a big thank you to everyone that has been coming along to the group in 2019.

We have already planned our 2020 events - it's a full program coming up in the New Year, doing all the activities the young people have requested and loved in the past - and some new ones! Pond dipping, bird watching and mini beast hunting.

We kick off on Saturday 11 January with some bird watching to hone our ID skills before the Big Garden Birdwatch (the worlds biggest bird survey!)

If you're a regular Wildlife Explorer, or want to try it out, come along and enjoy all that Rainham Marshes has to offer. It's a great time of year for birds at the reserve, I'm sure we will see a variety of waders and woodland birds.

This session will be free for all (usual reserve entry fees apply) - usually it's £2.50 (£2 for RSPB members). Come along, bring your friends and have fun.

We meet at the visitor centre at 10.15 am for a 10.30am start. Each session lasts a couple of hours. All leaders are DBS checked and we carry first aid kits, one leader is our dedicated first aider.
