Annie was a little disappointed at missing out on the Privet Hawkmoth Caterpillar on Sunday especially as caterpillars rank a close second to her other main invertebrate love... So when a lady came into the shop today and said that she had found some horrible beast in her garden and had considered squishing it before thinking ... 'Ooooo! I could ask those nice people at the RSPB what it is!'; she was ever so slightly over the moon to be presented with a splendid and very active, succulent Privet Cat!

We reckon that he was looking for somewhere to pupate as he had already started to go brown on the back and had no interest in eating although given his general blobbyness I doubt he could have eaten much more anyway.

He was directed toward the nearest Privet bushes and pointed in the direction of a succluded spot!

Marvellous!

Oh and super sticky feet just like that Puss Moth cat!  (images by me)
