Down to just two layers today! Quite astonishing given that we were at -11c last Saturday and +13c today. No wonder everything is so screwy out there! Was quite surprised that the Marsh Frogs did not start up today but several more bees were seen and the Skylarks were even noisier!

The Lapwings returned today with about 1000 back on the marsh and the two White-fronted Geese showed well on and off (although Pat and the Friday Walk managed to be everywhere they were not!) Avocets in the bay again and the Bearded Tits were doing their flufff stuff in the usual spot while Mr Blobby the bull Common Seal was once again hauled up on the mud on the Kent side of the Thames much to the amazement of several visitors who could not imagine that a seal would be this far up the non-coastal part of the Thames!

Thanks to Jerry Hoare for the goose footage!
