Afternoon all
The electric fence went live this afternoon and 29 cows have been brought back onto Aveley to graze the meadows down to perfect lapwing breeding level.
Interestingly, when the cattle were moved off onto Wennington for the winter so that the fence could be put in, they were all shades of brown, chestnut, black, white and cream.
Now, it would seem that the wardens have found something to keep themselves occupied over the long winter nights and all 29 of those brought on today were of sepia brown tones. Must have taken them hours to paint them all so thoroughly.
Quite eye catching really and they certainly blend in better with the natural reedy surroundings...
