Join us for a Big Wild Sleepout and camp in nature’s home at RSPB Rainham Marshes!
We are going to have a Big Wild Sleepout and camp at the reserve! Join us for an amazing opportunity that gives you the chance to experience the reserve in a unique way! Grab your sleeping bag, tent, and torch and get ready to explore the reserve out of our usual opening hours.
We will go for a late night walk to discover all the wonders of the night (will we see birds, moths, stars and more), sleep on the reserve, explore the reserve as it awakes to a new day looking for all sorts of wildlife (including the chance to see minibeasts as we explore our special minibeast homes), and enjoy a nice cooked breakfast!
•An exclusive camping event on our wonderful Rainham Marshes reserve and a friendly team to get you settled and help you find our fantastic wildlife.
•An exciting schedule of activities to keep you entertained throughout the event.
•Drinking water and toilets (no showers) will be available throughout the event.
•A sausage or bacon bap and hot drink for breakfast in the morning.
•Your camping gear - tent, pegs, ground sheets, roll mat/mattress (recommended as some parts of the campsite can be a bit bumpy), sleeping bags and pillows.
•Pyjamas, a change of clothes (bring something warm for the evening) and waterproofs.
•Sensible footwear - wellies recommended if rain is predicted!
•Your wash bag and toothbrush.
•A torch and some insect repellent are recommended.
• An evening picnic.
To book and pay in advance, please call our secure phone number on 01708 899840
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? There is a car park next to the visitor centre at Rainham Marshes - this will be locked just after 6pm. We can help you move your camping equipment from the car park to our campsite. We suggest labling your items to make them easier to find!
What's the refund policy? Should you need to cancel your booking, we can provide refunds up to 72 hours before the event start time. Should we have to re-schedule the event due to bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, a full refund can be given.
We spend 90% of net income on conservation, public education and advocacy
