Yesterday was tempestuous once again with huge anvil storm clouds brewing across the river to the south and rain driving in from the east.  It did not last all day and the sun made a concerted effort to push on through. Bird wise there was another Arctic Skua on the river and two Pectoral Sandpipers were seen briefly along with five Ruff and a variety of other waders.

They were not seen today but there was evidence of some movement including about 80 Sand Martin, 20 Swallow, three yellow Wagtails, 30 Meadow Pipits and 11 Skylark while two juvenile Marsh Harriers gave excellent views from the Butts hide. Needless to say there has been no sign of the Baillon's Crake since Sunday morning.
