With a good spell of nice warm weather, we have seen a pulse of big dragonflies on the wing with little packs of Migrant Hawkers patrolling the woodland paths, long bodied Southerns in the Cordite Store and even a belligerent Brown or two.

The smaller flying insect population has been taking a bashing from these aerial predators and they in turn have become prey for the Hobbies that are hunting the reserve on a daily basis...

At the other end of the scale there are still many Darters around and the Willow Emeralds have been seen very well over the last few days around the Troll Bridge.

Another one gets munched by a Hobby (Richard Pryor)

There are still a few more days of Hobby and Dragon time so get yourself down here while the sun is shining!
