Egyptian Goose may have been at large in the UK for many years now but it is only in the last five or so that it has cropped up in Essex with an regularity and it is now breeding at many locations in the county.

However, it is still a very scarce bird at Rainham, to the extent that some of the local birders still want it for their site list!

On the 17th Russ Sherriff discovered one with the Greylags and it has been seen on and off ever since providing the opportunity to fill in that missing gap on several lists.

I was trying to work it out but I think that I have seen about 12 Great White Egrets here but only five Egyptian Geese!   It is all about perspective!
