With the weather forecast looking more favourable, this evening's nightingale festival is on. The visitor centre has water again (phew!) and the cafe/shop is open as usual.
A walk around the trail this morning produced singing nightingales, whitethroats, blackcaps, willow warblers and sedge warblers. Whilst checking water levels on the brooks, I came across this rarely seen resident, stranded in the edge of a field. I put him back in the ditch (carefully!) and watched him swim away.
