Throughout May, our lovely café will be trying to tempt you with a rather splendid meal deal.
Buy a soup or sandwich, and a slice of cake and we’ll give you a cup of coffee on the house. Whilst I tend not to need an excuse to eat cake, if you feel you do, this is certainly a good one and it will also give you a chance to try our new bird friendly coffee.
Grown in the dappled shade in the Nicaraguan rainforest, our coffee develops slowly under the canopy of the trees. Not only does this ensure that the forest trees provide a home for brilliant birds and other wildlife, it means the coffee matures slowly and develops a fuller richer flavour (with caramel and citrus notes for the connoisseurs amongst you!) The coffee is certified as bird friendly by the Smithsonian migratory bird centre, is fair-trade and organic to boot.
We now serve soup and sandwiches right the way through from 12 noon til 4 pm. Our soups are gluten free and there are always vegetarian options too. If you are not a coffee drinker then we’ll happily serve you a cup of tea instead.
You can also now buy our bird friendly coffee in the shop – it’s suitable for use with filters or a cafetiere.
All of the profits from the café and the shop go directly to our conservation projects. Indulging yourself whilst saving nature...what could be better?
