Something of a deluge of spring migrants over the last 3 days, to go with the other deluge (16mm of rain on saturday) - probably 7 nightingales singing from various parts of the site today, plus blackcaps, willow warbler and chiffchaffs. The first whitethroat, sedge warbler, redstart, grasshopper warbler and lesser whitethroat have arrived, and yellow wagtail and wheatear noted yesterday. Swallows, sand martins and house martins now coming through in good numbers. 

Still numerous teal and shoveler present on the brooks, but most of the wigeon have now departed north. Little egrets and grey herons appear to be liking the high water levels...
