I may be being a little premature (some may say I’m tempting fate) but it looks as though we may be getting a welcome respite from this gloomy weather over the coming weekend. This is especially welcome as I’ll be up before the crack of dawn to lead our ‘dawn of the ducks’ event!
Whilst there isn’t a great deal of rain forecast over the next few days, it’s unlikely that we’ll see the floods receding yet and parts of the trail are expected to be underwater for some time to come. Whilst you may not be able to complete the entire circular route, if the promised sun does come out, the view should be stunning!
One of the best places to admire the view is from the café terrace as you can keep your feet dry and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at the same time. We’re now serving our exclusive bird-friendly coffee, produced high in the Nicaraguan rainforest, where the tree canopy is left in place to give a home to wildlife. The coffee cherry also ripens more slowly in the dappled shade to produce a great flavour. It’s organic and fair trade to boot! So now you can help save nature simply by enjoying a cup of coffee.
Brighter weather often brings cooler temperatures so if you need warming up after your walk, we now serve our lovely home-made soup (and sandwiches) throughout the afternoon (from 12 noon until 4 pm.
So get your wellies and your woolly hat on and come and explore the wonderful wetlands this weekend!
