The hide sessions are back in full swing and the birds are putting a great show. Well, when the wind isn’t hitting gale force!
At The Loons on the 27th of April visitors to the hide amongst all the displaying waders were treated to great views of water rail including a territorial dispute . The photos below were taken by David Armstrong.
They are still showing regularly, and at the last hide session (11th May) in addition to the water rail, Alan had displaying black tailed godwits, pintail, a juvenile female peregrine falcon as highlights. The mute swan is still sitting on her nest and there are also little grebes nesting in the reedbed.
The red throated divers are back displaying at Lowrie’s water (Burgar Hill Hide) and well worth a visit.
Why not join us at the next hide session at Burgar Hill on Friday 18th May. Drop in any time between 10:00 till 13:00. Or on one of the Guided Walks. You can find out more on 01856 850176.
