A BIG turn out for this annual event, possibly as a result of a rake of good birds last week and winds of eastern promise... still, as you have seen from previous posts a good day was had by all despite a lack of passerine migrants...

Highlights
Buff-breasted Sandpiper (1) Burness
American Golden Plover (Ad) Burness
Yellow-browed Warbler (3) Stove, Roos & Lettan
Common Rosefinch (1 poss 2) Stove & Lettan

Supporting cast; Curlew Sandpiper (1), Sanderling (100's), Golden Plover (1000's), Hen Harrier (Ring-tail & Male), Peregrine, Merlin, Pintail (50+), Whooper Swan (12+), Willow Warbler (2), Wheatear (10+), Redpoll (1), Sandwich Tern (4), Pink-footed Geese (50+), Bar-tailed Godwit (100+), and Grey Plover (20+). I may have missed out a few, that others saw - apologies.

So all in all a good day's birding on Sanday BUT if only the MAGNOLIA WARBLER had flown or been blown another 50km SW to Sanday it would have been a tad more colourful.

Enjoyed folks company once again...until next time.
Cheers Al
