Saw both today with a couple of clear views (they're so easily spooked) so I'll just post a couple of images and a very short video. Just hope they leave some berries for the Waxwings who have come over in significant numbers this year and possibly to a tree near me! It should play in 1080p HD but sometimes it takes a while before this is available!
What beautiful captures of the winter thrushes John, I've still to see either a Redwing or Fieldfare but live in hope lol They are beautiful birds. Great video clip too, thanks for such a lovely addition.
Thank you Hazel, your encouraging comments are always appreciated. Hope you get to see some soon. Unfortunately they slip away and hide at the first sight of a human, especially if they've got bins or a camera!
Beautiful John, I have had on two occasions had redwing so, it was one of those moments, quick get the binos. Had to look up the book to see what they were.
Fabulous John. I love to see these birds in the winter. We seem to get a few Redwings around us but it's not often I get to see a Fieldfare (apart from the one year we had a lot of snow and they actually came into the garden to eat apples - and drove all the other birds out in the process!) I love to see photos of birds among the berries - yours are beautiful/
Thank you so much Catlady and Christine, really appreciate your kind words!
Just great to see your images of these most handsome birds, never knowingly seen a Fieldfare but did have good fortune last year having Redwings visiting trees on quarry clifftop opposite my house!
Cracking captures John !
Cheers Wendy and Nicky! Think it's going to be one of those particularly cold winters this year, with snow on the Brecon Beacons already. They're going to need to pile on the fat and the berry harvest has been amazing, almost as though nature can predict these things.
Well, John, there are your Christmas cards sorted! Lovely photos--thanks.
Thank you Ann!
