If you are a regular visitor to Newport Wetlands, you may notice that there have been some recent changes to the car park. On arrival you will now go through a barrier to enter the car park.  Before leaving, you will need to come to the visitor centre to get a token to open the barrier at the exit. The car park opening times are between 9am and 5pm so that you are able to get your token from the visitor centre.

From 22nd January 2018, if you are not a member of the RSPB it will cost £3 to park for the day.  As an RSPB member, you will never have to pay to park, as RSPB membership entitles you to unlimited entry to more than 170 UK nature reserves.  When you join you will get a free gift, a welcome pack and a copy of Nature's Home magazine every quarter.  If you join as a family, you'll receive our special nature discovery pack to help you explore and enjoy nature together. Kids will also get an action packed magazine to suit their age group.

So you may be asking why are we introducing a car parking charge?

The RSPB is a charity and needs support and income to help it continue its vital nature conservation work and manage fantastic visitor and educational facilities like the ones here at Newport Wetlands. By supporting us you are helping to support our wonderful wildlife and give nature a home.
