Recent sightings from 27 August to 02 September 2018

The warblers put on another good show: Reed warbler, Sedge Warbler and Cetti’s warbler could all be seen right in front of the visitor centre. The mudflats regularly held vast numbers of Shelduck, Curlew and Black-tailed godwits could be spotted there once again as well. Sightings of Snipe, Oystercatcher and Avocet rounded off another interesting week in regard to the waders. A family of Bearded reedlings showed itself nicely on Friday. Sunday brought a Little gull near the coast. To the delight of the visitors the Kingfisher seems to be around more regularly as well. The lagoons at Goldcliff had some Knots and Little ringed plovers.

Please note that we take our recent sightings list from the visitor sightings board that anyone can contribute to. This is great as everyone can get involved, but obviously can lead to potential errors too as they aren’t always verified!  We try to keep this list as accurate as possible but if you see something unusual feel free to comment here!
