The start of the latest series of Autumnwatch heralds the count down to the first half-term of the school year. I am pleased to say we have a full programme of events for the week.
Starting on Saturday 22nd october and running for the whole week, we are hosting a DSI: Deadly Scene Investigation event based on the popular BBC childrens programme. Families can turn themselves into forensic scientists as they go around the reserve searching for clues to find out 'Who Dunnit!'
This is a free event and will be running daily from 10am to 4pm. Come along to the main RSPB car park at Middleton Lakes to collect everything you'll need to solve the crime.
On Saturday 29th October we are having a RSPB Feed the Birds Day on site where we will be offering advice on what you can do to feed the birds in the garden as winter approaches. You will be able to have a go ourselves to make such delights as fir cone feeders, log feeders and funny face plates! Messy but fun (wet wipes will be available.) The fun starts at 10am
See you on the reserves,
Best regards,
Chris Edwards
