Well we are experiencing some horrible weather at the moment, the last week has been a combination of wet and wild, with strong winds but when we think back to a year ago we can't complain really, then we had snow and ice, so it's still pretty mild for December!!

We have plenty of birds about and they had a lovely respite from the windy weather this morning, when we actually saw some sunshine, and calm fall over the reserve and a bit more movement from the birds!  We have good numbers of barnacle geese, pintails, wigeon and teal, and the feeders at the back of the reserve were busy throughout the day with finches and sparrows!  The hedgerows are full of yellowhammer and reed bunting.

As we approach Christmas let me give you a reminder that we have a Christmas Craft Fair on the reserve on 10th and 11th December, 10-4pm with a range of stalls selling locally produced crafts, a chance to buy some great potential Chritsmas presents in a stress free environment!
