I'm new to this site, even after being an RSPB member for four years. I had every intention of joining the Marshside history walk today (4/12/2011) but after seing the weather conditions, you might say "I chicken'ed out).
I'm lucky in the respect that my back bedroom window overlooks the reserve from Preesall Close and I manage to stay in the warm and dry overlooking a lot of the bird life on the reserve. I am still learning about coastal birds as I spent most of my life in the Midlands.
I am still amazed after living here for four years at the the wonderful site of the pink foots as they arrive in there thousands every year, the wigeon that almost carpet the field at the back of my house.
Looking forward to meeting some of you one day soon.
