Happy new week folks! Don't foget to check the last few posts of the previous week. Heron posted a photo of a female reed bunting, AQ saw a "ginormous flock of corellas" (must Google that!), OG has found a nice B&B for her trip, Alan posted a nifty shot of the changing of the guard at the eagle nest, folks are wondering how Diane is doing with the storm the big storm back East, and much, much more! :-) We had almost 2 inches of rain in Santa Barbara today, which is brilliant. Still sorting files and likely to be doing so for a day or three to come. Take care all.
Good morning gary but glad you don't have to go out in it. I watched Fox News last night and saw the awful conditions. Good job we don't get it as bad as we have trouble coping with just a couple of inches here. very cold and frosty this morning and bird baths frozen solid again. Have spent the last 2 hours defrosting them. Kent has been hit by snow and it is causing mayhem on the roads this morning.
Stay safe and warm and have a goode day.

Good morning original goldfinch and thanks. I feel lousy at the moment and it so cold here today it took me a while to pluck up courage and to go and ort the bird feeders out and defrost the bird baths again. OH thinks I am mad but my birds mean a lot to me and as far as I am concerned they have to be looked after especially while it is so cold. OH's Mum lives in Kent and they have had quite a bit of snow there but notas much as they are getting in parts of America. Watched Fox News last night and it looked horrendous. Washington was just about deserted and snowing heavily in New York as well. Think we have to consider ourselves lucky that are not getting the same.
Have a good day.
We have had about 6" of snow and it is still falling. Even though there were plenty of warnings, the main road has not been gritted.
Annette, love your Ford. I should imagine it is fun to drive
Margobird, hope your silence doesn't mean you are feeling worse today.
We keep having to clear a patch for the ground feeding birds, but as quick as we clear and put the food down, it is quickly covered in snow again.
.
Good morning again Alan. Lets hope they get decent weather for the osprey chicks. I watched the Hampton eagle last night and the snow was coming down and the wind very strong. I felt really sorry for her having to sit in that.
I thought Dunedin had a Scottish ring to it.
Good morning Herton 77 and thanks for the photographs, they are so good.
Very cold and frosth first thing today and back to defrosing bird baths. Wedidn't have any more snow showeres but I believe Kent have had enough to cause difficulties on the roads.
Looks like Valmont great horned owl has an egg :))

Good monring Brenda H I didn't mind your comment because what I had done made me smile as well. Amazing how one wrong letter changes something completely. Trying to be a bit more careful today. Feeling a bit below par so not doing a lot other than watching various cams and keeping my bird feeders and trys topped up as the birds are going mad for food again.
Good morning Caerann what a day you had with an earthquake and all that snow tool. I see Gary has posted and says it is snowing well where he is but haven't come across a posting from Diane yet, still going through all the news so I may come across one from her. Stay safe and warm.
DjoanS thanks for the pic the egg looks sort of lonely doesn't it. Have you had snow at all today?
Brenda H just trawling my way though all the news. I dm not feeling too good but I managed to drag myself out and sort the birds out. They are very hungry at the moment. Very cold here today with a bitter wind and also very frosty earlier. No snow here but plenty in Kent I believe.
