Rutland Osprey Team off to Africa next week
I wonder what answer we would get if we sent them the obvious question?
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
I too am waiting my copy from RW at the stated date in March and it would be great if it had the picture of 03 but I suppose not very likely. Mystery about the e-bay copy hope all is above board

From my conversation with the reserve staff yesterday I know there is a book in the Project Teams office...as you might expect.
I note from reading the full description that the e-bay book is recorded as having some pencil underlining and pages which are not exactly pristine so possibly some sort of proof copy?.
I hope to be able to answer fully on Monday.
Birdies LG DU update.
Seems a reputable seller according to eBay standards. Look forward to your findings Mike.
What a mystery. I also much prefer the 2nd picture, what a cracker that is.
LINDYBIRD - I think the second picture is one of the best Rutland have of that famous male 03/97.
I think it would be pride of place on the cover of the book as without him I doubt if Rutland would be where it is now.
I am sure they will have placed this photograph of him or other stuning pictures of 03/97 inside if they use the other cover which I suspect they may have. Over the years Field Officer - John Wright has captured some fantastic images of him and the other birds.
Keith I have to agree and RW 03/97 is a major achievement for RW. Also the Glaslyn Male Orange 11 remarkable. These two males are very important and hope that they are left to breed in peace. only now have I learnt how sucessful both are and so interested. Fascinated
They are both getting Older as with EJ and hope all known or un-known Ospreys make it back.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have at last managed to track down Tim. The front cover of the book is as shown on their website link ie: the Manton Bay nest BUT the one of 03 is on the back so you should all be happy. You may also be interested in this http://www.express.co.uk/comment/columnists/john-ingham/379362/The-Rutland-Water-Ospreys review which appears in the Daily Express. As for the book on E-Bay Tim is as perplexed as the rest of us. He is adamant that there are only two books legitimately in existence . He has one and John Wright the other.
UPDATE. I have spoken to the seller who tells me that the book would have been bought in from a third party, probably someone connected to the publishers. It will NOT be available before the stated publication date.
Thanks very much Mike but please ask Tim to reverse the cover photos and put 03 on the front where he belongs! :)
Very strange indeed about the eBay book. Thanks for the update there too.
PS I just checked and see the auction has ended. Has the book been removed or has someone bought it?
Chloe, I think the 'die is cast' re the cover photos!. As for the book I suspect that it was 'withdrawn' after my call pointing out the correct publication date. I e-mailed the details of my conversation with the seller to Tim so he may well have also had words.
