Hi everyone. Happy Sunday! As usual, check out the last few entries of the previous week's chat to find out who left a plant at the supermarket checkout counter and ate a bag of chocolate donuts for lunch.
Brought Oro for home visit today; was lovely and sunny and daughter sat in the garden feeding him treats. He had a little snooze and then while my daughter took a nap Oro and I went to the beach and walked along the grassy area behind the sand for about a mile or so. (No trash cans to crash into!) Marvellous afternoon with brisk breeze and big surf, but now they're forecasting more rain for Monday through Wednesday!
Richard has given an update on the electricity fund, £4500.
Thanks for the info Alan was just looking at the cam and could not see where to find updates. Looked at everything else except nesting notes so now know where to look in future.
Sad news about one of Phoebe's chicks as it has died. I think I read that they thought it had hatched to soon. Hope the other one makes it now.
Been to look at Lily but the cam is down at the moment. Watched a lot yesterday and the cub was really vocal a lot of the time, must be a hungry little one and poor Lily's backside was covered in show. She is so well insulated though that the the snow doesn't melt on her back.
Very cold here today and I think I will be on bird bath defrosting duties tomorrow as termperature minus 4 tonight.
Have a good day.
Margobird
Morning lindybird and I must assure you I am a gentle soul. Wouldn't hurt a fly and perhaps you are right in that my "dark side" comes out in horror films and horror stories but that is as far as it goes.
We say Erin and Anton last year and it was such a lovely show. We also saw Brendan Cole in January this year when he had a show in Poole. We also enjoyed this very much and found out that he also has a good singing voice. Later this year we are going to see the Strictly Dancing professional show twice and I am sure we will enjoy this as well.
Thanks for the update Brenda H I thing it is time to donate a bit more now that Christmas is over. they really need to be able to have this done and anyway it will make things better for us viewers. Have a good day.
Good news that Andy Murray won but he probably won't like the way he won it with Nadal having to retire injured although I have to say Andy was playing well.
Thanks Caerann what a great shot.
Hi Margobird. I have been watching the Murray match, too. Very exciting, but a bit sad really that Nadal had to retire due to injury.
Just rather dull weather here, today. We went to an out of town Garden Centre to pick up some bird food & onion sets, & as we drove away, saw a large Buzzard sitting on an electricity cable just above us, so got a really good view of him. Wonderful! As Alan said the other day, you just have to be observant and you never know what you might see around you. Hope you enjoyed your Burns Night, Alan.
Annette: Glad to hear your daughter is still improving, & feeling well enough to insist on going home. At least you are near enough, as you say, to rush over there if she needs you. Now have a rest, yourself.
The news from Haiti is still coming in daily & its so frustrating to hear that things could be better for them. With all those relief agencies & different countries involved, surely they can organise themselves better. I heard this morning that according to USA, it will take more than ten years to rebuild. I just hope they don't build them some more shacks on the same fault line, or it might happen all over again sometime.
Off this afternoon to take Husbands Aged Auntie to a clinic appointment. She has been very stoic about all her various ailments, but I feel she would prefer not to be among us if she gets any more problems- there is so much medical help these days, people do live longer but their quality of life is not always great.
Have a good Tuesday, All.
Lindybird: I had a very nice Burns night thank you but I feel a bit of a fraud as we could not find Haggis anywhere and Lady P is not too fond of it but never mind the thought was there and I did have a drink.
An excellent win for Andy Murray in what could have been a really tough match. He seemed well on top when Nadal complained of his injury. It was probably the best I have seen him play in a grand slam. Next opponent in the semis is Marin Cilic.
Lilys bear cam appears to be still down so will have to surf around to see what we can see.
Lone wild pig takes centre stage. I wont boar you with the details:
Ha ha nice one Alan saw quite a few of them this morning unusually.
