Hi All. Don't forget to check last page or so of previous week for all the latest! Granddaughter made excellent time to AZ - got there at 4 p.m. our time - an 8 hour ride with minimal (comparatively speaking) traffic through LA early this morning. Thunder received hysterical greeting from Pepito, tiny noisy companion who wondered where Thunder had gone but was much too noisy and excitable to bring along. Brought Oro home for successful visit after which I went on a hunt-and-scoop mission to clean up yard after two large dogs. Oh fun! Daughter and I watched Wallace and Gromit DVD (the "were-rabbit" one) - a hoot. OH and I just remembered we have tickets for Charlie Rose (PBS interviewer) this evening so have to hose myself down, prop open my eyelids and try to stay awake for another few hours. Why do these things start at 8 p.m.?!
Thanks Alan for reminder re Phoebe (keep reminding us since I'm so busy running and fetching); four big storms due this week with threat of flooding, high winds, power outages. Sounds like real weather!! TerryM: Will pass on gerbil story to hamster! Lindybird: All hankies put away now! :-) Congrats on the redecorating and dibnlib: I'm with you from now on - hire the folks who can do it in half the time (at four times the cost, yes, but....)
Off to comb hair and make self presentable. Have a nice Sunday all.
I used to play cricket for the school and my grandfather was president of Forfarshire cc team so I am a bit biased.
Could not resist another screenshot of Phoebe. First chick due tomorrow:

You are doing a fantastic job with these captures Alan. It is making the close season so much shorter.
Mind you I have always thought that the season begins with the Blackwater eagles even though they tend to
get neglected a bit when the peregrines and ospreys start.

This is what I call a webcam superlink.

Hi Dibnlib. My trip back this time is a social one (well, the OH is working, I'm just tagging along:)) The wedding trip for BIL is in April. I am very confused and that is my normal state! LOL
BrendaH, thank you
Annette, we leave home 4am on Wednesday.....:(
Alan, thanks for the screen shots
Tiger, thanks for the links as always

Oh dear, Tiger - we'll never get any work done now with this facility to point us into the natural world! But many, many thanks!!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Think it was only on in Scotland but I do hope those of you who could took the opportunity to watch Winter Wonderland this evening and I hope others get the chance at some point. It showed spectacular aerial views of Scotland taken while the snow covered everywhere. Not to be missed.
Thanks Tiger that seems pretty comprehensive but I wonder if there are any missing? There's only one way to find out. Only joking. LOL
It's raining in OC cal at the moment.
Another carrot cake and latte afternoon – I like this!
Tiger – I am no expert with Amaryllis – only once managed one for a second year – the bulbs seem to get nibbled by wee beasties while resting! But we seem to try one most years. I believe I am supposed to look after this one “until the leaves die off” but it shows no signs of having any leaves at all!!
Wattle - Snow in the middle of the Australian heat wave? Well, it’s those weather gremlins again!!
Margobird – so pleased you got your visit to junior on Sunday! Thanks for alert to blog from Alice.
Whoever it was – sorry – lovely day here too – then turned misty towards dusk.
Heron – great starling gathering. We get a sub-flock of the Gretna starlings here – superb. Hope the cold/flu doesn’t get worse – look after yourself and drink plenty!
Gary – I wish you smooth and safe travelling.
Dibnlib – didn’t see any ref to Winter Wonderland anywhere – what channel was that?
Sorry to be brief - want to consult with OH about magazine while he is free from another task!
Goodnight all, take care, keep safe.
OG, thanks and sounds a lovely way to spend the afternoon!
Hi all: Torrential rain and wind here at one point - now have human's eye view of hawk circling over the next block in between two trees. Must check Phoebe cam tomorrow but have to take daughter to docs for follow-up appointment. I like tennis, but typically only watch Wimbledon. Sounds like everyone is doing well - Gary, have a good trip!
