Hi All. Don't forget to check last page or so of previous week for all the latest! Granddaughter made excellent time to AZ - got there at 4 p.m. our time - an 8 hour ride with minimal (comparatively speaking) traffic through LA early this morning. Thunder received hysterical greeting from Pepito, tiny noisy companion who wondered where Thunder had gone but was much too noisy and excitable to bring along. Brought Oro home for successful visit after which I went on a hunt-and-scoop mission to clean up yard after two large dogs. Oh fun! Daughter and I watched Wallace and Gromit DVD (the "were-rabbit" one) - a hoot. OH and I just remembered we have tickets for Charlie Rose (PBS interviewer) this evening so have to hose myself down, prop open my eyelids and try to stay awake for another few hours. Why do these things start at 8 p.m.?!
Thanks Alan for reminder re Phoebe (keep reminding us since I'm so busy running and fetching); four big storms due this week with threat of flooding, high winds, power outages. Sounds like real weather!! TerryM: Will pass on gerbil story to hamster! Lindybird: All hankies put away now! :-) Congrats on the redecorating and dibnlib: I'm with you from now on - hire the folks who can do it in half the time (at four times the cost, yes, but....)
Off to comb hair and make self presentable. Have a nice Sunday all.
Afternoon all from TI,
Sunny again today after a gloomy start. Spent most of the morning up a ladder fixing the downpipe from the guttering where it had popped out under the soffit. I suppose it must have been weight of the snow and ice.
Dibnlib: Lily live streaming on this link. Cubs are due any day now:

Caerann : I agree that 7 eggs seems a lot but I read somewhere that she managed to fledge 7 owlets once before so it is not impossible.
I have to go now and take Hamish out while the sun shines. Catch up later.
Hello, All. Mild here today, but overcast. Yesterday was very pleasant, with sunshine (hooray!) so took Dog for walk along path made along old single track railway, out in the countryside. Lots of others doing same, so met 2 new puppies on leads (Christmas presents??) several chlldren on new bicycles, (ditto?) and more horses than usual: we have to be careful with the latter, as Dog is so intent on smelling everything in sight, he just ambles in front of bikes or horses, not caring whether they have to swerve etc. so I'm always anxious about encounters. The trees & bushes had buds on them, if you looked carefully, & the only snow left anywhere around here is from the sad remains of snowmen. Came back ravenous for our salad lunch, then fell asleep on sofa! Husband enjoyed Final of the Snooker tournament. (More fun than the footie lately, as his team have not been winning ; - (
Hope by now you have done that ironing, Wattle, or sadly I fear the pile will magically just grow! Thanks to OG for the lovely flower pic, also Robert the Bruce looks splendid on his clock tower, the people of the town must be very proud to have him up there at last.
Off for lunch now & then lots more housework (ugh) but will look in later & follow up some of those links.
Annette, those pesky cars! Glad you are getting to the bottom of things. Strange about the shops being busy, I'm seeing the opposite my side. Still, you guys other there are always the trend setters:) Thanks for the tip on the storms. We've had rain/sleet overnight and it is due to be unsettled the next few days but haven't picked up anything bad coming in. Still...... I leave for my trip home on Wednesday and it can do what it likes after that!! LOL
Hope everyone else is oK
Lindybird, glad your decorating went well and what a lovely walk that sounds. When our horse meets a dog she wants to sniff then push it out the way and she won't stop if the dog doesn't move!! So the dog ends up moving:)
Alan, thanks for the updates on Lilly, what great pictures.
Busy day here getting sorted, starting to think about what to take back (can't start too early...)
Gary, I am sure you will enjoy your trip home, but do have a great time. Looks as if it is going to be raining from Wednesday onward but that shouldn't stop your fun.
Hello all have only just caught up with last weeks postings and now have read through new ones. Annette glad your daughter had a safe journey and thanks to all for interesting posts and pics.
I finally got to have a cuddle with new great nephew Rhys and what a little cutie he is. He is just gorgeous and quite content to have cuddles from all once he had been fed. I then had him while he had a sleep and just could not stop looking at him and all the funny faces he pulls. My sister and I are now planning a shopping trip in March to buy some more clothes for him and I will be buying his shoes for a new years when he needs them. My sister's dog was very inquisitive but he will get used to baby sounds and to be honest I think there was a little bit of jealousy creeping in although I did make a fuss of him when we arrived.
We had a really bizarre sighting in our garden yesterday. It was a lovely sunny day and we couldn't believe it when we saw a butterfly. On closer inspection it was a painted lady and I am amazed that is has somehow survived all the freezing and often wet weather we have had. I have emailed the butterfly conservation society to ask how unusual this is as it will be interesting to find out. Couldn't get a photo as by the time we got the camera it had flown away again.
Alan hope Hamish is a bit happier now the weather has improved. Overcast here this morning but sun out now and I keeping my eyes open in case there is another sighting of the painted lady. I am really looking to the birth of Lily's cubs and thanks for the capture shot again.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the day and take care.
Margobird
Margobird, sounds as if there is going to be one very spoilt baby, but then that is one of the joys of being a grandmother or great aunt. I would love to hear what reply you receive about your butterfly.
Sun is shining here so off for a walk .
Hope you enjoy your walk BrendaH. Yes especially by my sister because it is her first grandchild and she is just so happy about it. I am sure we will be allowed to spoil him though and will enjoy doing it.
