The 2012 and 2013 Loch Garten Group Awards Thread

Yesterday mims made me a rather lovely award in the form of this picture. It got me thinking that since TPTB habitually ignore the Loch Garten Group when it comes to any form of recognition then we might as well do our own awards since it is the end of the season.

I was thinking along the lines of highlighting the five posters that each person feels did most this year to make the Loch Garten Group the lovely place it has been.

Mind you the only problem is that there are a lot more than five people who have made the Loch Garten Group what it is.

Here are some of my thoughts about those who come to mind.

1. Alan Petrie for his never ending quest to bring us the latest osprey news

2. Sue C for her wonderful tracking threads

3. scylla   for her endless recording of the camera

4. moffer for recording and identifications

5. June for her excellent stewardship of the Gabfest

6. Keith Rogers for his endless explanation

7. Black Jaguar for his wonderful bike ride

8. Diane for administering the Weekly thread

9. Annette for her long term contribution

10 Patily for her summaries under the most difficult of circumstances

11. ChloeB for her charts

 

I could go on and on but I think people get the idea. So pehaps people should think hard about who you want to highlight. So let us have some feedback.

    Lovely certificates, MaryGK.  Thanks for posting them.

    (I especially like the tartan background on the one for EJ & Odin)

    Well done Mary, those awards/certificates are well deserved and congratulations to you too for creating them.  We have all been well served by both Scylla and Limpy.  There have been many others who have contributed much to this brilliant year, surely one of the best years of osprey watching ever.... well, I think so.

    Thanks for producing the certificates  Mary.

    I hope I have always made it clear that I have always greatly appreciated the time and effort put in by SCYLLA and LIMPY. They do deserve this recognition and our THANKS.

    Thanks also to ALL  those who have contributed this season. I have enjoyed all your pics/ comments and your company.

    Thanks everyone for your nice comments, the certificates are only a bit of fun and nothing serious.

    I made them because I was asked to do so and agreed with the gesture.  

    I have been asked to make a further two certificates for two different people, but feel as no response from Scylla and Limpy, I do not want anyone to feel uncomfortable or awkward by them, so will decline to make any more in this instance.    Sorry to the person making the request and also to anyone who does not approve of them, I am only the Certificate Maker not the one who makes the decision as to who receives them.

    I am still recovering from the final ENS,  {{{MARY}}} and wouldn't have seen this thread were it not for an alert from a kind member (he knows who he is).

    Even then I thought he'd got confused by last year's and I re-saved those lovely certificates, only to progress and find gorgeous new ones for LIMPY and me :o

    Thank you all so much.  As said elsewhere, I couldn't have borne a "good egg", but a certificate from my LG friends that I can keep private is quite a different matter, and it's such a beautiful certificate, too - thank you for spending your precious time on us MARY :-*

    I can't speak for LIMPY but I bet he is tickled pink :-)

    Scylla I thought I hadn't seen you around for a couple of days, I am so relieved you are happy with your certificate, and glad we have someone who looks after us and keeps us on our toes (you know who I mean)  :-)

    Mary, many thanks for the awards that you have done for Scylla and I. I totally agree that Scylla's certificate is very well deserved - I also think that there are so many other people who also deserve an award, including yourself. Without you and all the other people who have contributed, and there are so many to name, this year's DU would not have been so good.

    I also wanted to say that the colours on my certificate are lovely and you have great taste.
