This Topic has been set up to follow the Autumn 2012 migration and wintering of satellite tracked ospreys, other than Caledonia and Alba from Loch Garten, who are followed on this thread, Tracking Caledonia & Alba
This topic replaces Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Mar-Aug 2012
N.B. There are still some missing details (and possibly birds) which I will add once the information becomes available.
Swedish osprey 57375 update:
No change. Still in coastal area of Western Sahara:
Transmitter for Ilze has not been found:
"23.12.2012 Transmitter of Ilze is lost
The conditions to find transmitter of Latvian Osprey Ilze seemed good enough to be viewed from afar, but despite the efforts of the German and Italian colleagues, however, to find the transmitter failed. Eriks, mate of Ilze during the breeding season, did not send data to us, and hopefully is on its wintering grounds outside GSM network area and by spring we will see again Eriks moving on the map. Tagged Ospreys of Estonia seem to be all right. Piret returned in the end of November after a month and half of absence to the GSM coverage again and send the data nicely from South-Sudan, as well as Ilmar from Angola. It would be interesting to know if anyone has been to the area and made pictures there about the landscape?"
BlueYD has been updated on GE. Still in the same area near Doue. Living in a small range.
BlueYD latest positions. Interesting that there was no data for 24th as was the case with Caledonia.
