Blue 44 is still enjoying French hospitality and been named 'Toton', the reserve staff are really joining in the adventures, of these young ospreys. Blue YD has been ranging on the River Senegal. I have seen 'Orange 5U' at l'Etang du Ravoir this year in July, but only on the nest in the distance. 5U is keeping Blue 44 company.
Blue YD 30th the last two fixes.
Great to see Blue YD through the desert and close to the river. Tks jsb.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
GE update in for Ceulan - as at midday on Oct 1st, still dotting about on the southern i.e. Senegal side of the river.
Update on Fiddich - she is through the desert and in Senegal in wetlands.

It was me that traced the contact details for the Etang Noir reserve staff and passed them on to LotL staff, so I'm really pleased that they are, as you say, so involved and providing such great info & photos. Seems very appropriate that Blue44 has been named after a French chef given his appetite. Apparently a toton is a spinning top and there is an expression "tourner comme un toton" which means to get impatient. Now, why does that remind me of Blue44 calling for fish?
Here is the latest update, which took some time to do, so I will post the image below. P.S. I hope you have noted the colours of type used in the spreadsheet! :o)

You are spoiling us, JSB, in the nicest way :-) Thank you very much!
IMAGICAT
I second that Scylla - a nice round of applause sounds about right!!!
KateP ~ Thanks for finding out more about Blue 44 and contacting LotL with the Rangers where Blue 44 is enjoying spending his time, I am so relieved he is under the watchful eye of people who care for all wildlife and not alone somewhere in Africa, please keep up with any updates as they are very much appreciated :) It is a first as far as I know where we have seen a chick from birth to this stage with so much info and pics too which is heart warming! I know Ospreys have been sighted and photo's have been seen, but with Blue 44 it is like home from home. :)
Jsb ~ Thanks for all the stats you supply us with which is also appreciated. :)

Three cheers for JSB indeed
